Manufacturing process

Stage 1. Mould Preparation

Preparation is the key to a quality product. Our mould is cleaned thoroughly to ensure it is in perfect condition before our pools are made. All of the pool fittings are applied then recorded.

Stage 2. Aquaguard Gelcoat Application

The gelcoat is sprayed onto the mould in six phases. Between each spray the mould is left for a short time. Each stage of the gelcoat application needs to pass high quality control criteria by Construction Management before proceeding to the next stage.

Stage 3. Expoxy Vinyl Ester Application

To give the pools its waterproof quality this product is sprayed onto the gelcoated mould. To match the surface area of each pool size it is measured and accurately applied. The product is then left to cure and will then be checked once more by quality control.

Stage 4. Fibreglass Re-Lamination

• The “skin” is applied or first layer of fibreglass.
• The pool undergoes a reinforcing stage, with the application of Klegcell PVC close cell foam.
• A layer of form core is applied.
• Lifting lugs are used so the pools are to be lifted by crane for transportation. The lifting lugs are applied.
• Another layer of gelcoat is applied to cover all work and to provide a final stage of reinforcing. The pool manufacturing process is now complete.
